Intolerant Christians in Lincoln, NE Shut Down Atheist Billboard
Of note, the billboard’s intent was to offer outreach to other atheists – not to intimidate or mock Christians (as many seem to have believed). Everyone needs to feel as if they belong to a community regardless of religious belief (or lack thereof); Christians do not own the market on the concept.
Despite only being up for a week, the group noted they did see an uptick in online membership on their Facebook page as well as positive comments on their website.
Oddly enough, those who organized the removal never bothered to approach the group before taking action against them. The atheist group didn’t receive a single negative comment through any of their communication channels.
